Best Time to Visit Kashmir

Kashmir is beautiful all year round. March to June: blooming tulips and warm weather (5°C–25°C). July to September: lush green valleys, Amarnath Yatra season. October to November: spectacular autumn foliage and saffron harvest. December to February: snowfall, skiing at Gulmarg.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gulmarg in winter (December-February) is a world-class ski destination and perfectly safe. Srinagar and Dal Lake are magical under a snow blanket. Houseboat heating is excellent. The roads to Pahalgam and Sonamarg may be blocked by heavy snowfall in January-February but Srinagar and Gulmarg remain fully accessible.

The Royal Wazwan is Kashmir's legendary 36-course ceremonial feast cooked by master chefs called Wazas. Signature dishes include Rogan Josh, Gushtaba (royal meatballs), Tabak Maaz, Yakhni, and Aab Gosht. It is traditionally served in a copper plate (traami) shared among 4 guests and is a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience.
